Quick Navigation :
What Causes QBitTorrent I/O Error
QBitTorrent is a free open-source qBitTorrent client that is an alternative to uTorrent. It is based on the Qt toolkit and developed by volunteers. Some users reported that they are always troubled by the QBitTorrent I/O error.
After investigating many user reports and posts, there are 2 scenarios that can cause the QBitTorrent IO error. The first cause is limited permission access. If there is no permission for a custom download location, then QBitTorrent can’t find the download location. The other one is your Windows Defender that may interfere with the torrent client and cause QBitTorrent.
I found two bugs when running qBittorrent on Windows 10 which seem related to the administrator rights. When the program runs without admin rights I am unable to download anything. The following happens when I start a download: The download starts, connections are made, all is normal; Explorer.exe crashes (taskbar is redrawn) Download is paused. The wiki did not contain a suitable solution either; I have pasted/attached the settings file and relevant log(s) in the Attachments section at the bottom of the report. Mandatory: the settings file and at least the most recent log. See this wiki page if you're not sure where to find them. Description qBittorrent info and operating system(s).
