  1. Upload that SWF file to a Share pod in Adobe Connect. Place that Share pod where ever you would like in your Meeting. Using the pod is just a matter of using the buttons on the interface to set the time and start the timer. Only Hosts and Presenters can set the timer and start or stop it.
  2. If you scroll down the page you’ll find a green “Countdown Timer” which I use in my online classes or the black and white “LoungePod” that Colin Steed uses when hosting an LPI webinar. Simply download the.SWF (shockwave/Flash) file Then in Adobe Connect share a pod Browse for content as normal.
  3. The Connect application for desktop session timeout in minutes field controls the timeout values for the meeting session in the Adobe Connect application for desktop in Windows and Mac. The minimum and maximum permissible values for this parameter are 0 to 43,200 (30 days).

Number of layouts allowed

Is there a maximum / advised number of layouts that we can use per meeting?

Re: Number of layouts allowed

Maximum: no, as many as you feel you need.

Advised: if you can handle 2 layouts, then stick with 2. If you can handle 150 layouts, then stick with 150. Do what best fits your needs/workflow.

Re: Number of layouts allowed

In my lobby layout I had several pods: swf clock, the adobe connect countdown timer (swf), a music in a share pod, and the location map. Is that too much data on a layout for a session with about 200 attendees?

Adobe Connect Countdown Timer

Re: Number of layouts allowed

yes, the VC crashed! We had to reschedule the session and I was told it was because of the interactive location map (.swf format) - very disappointing and inconvenient for our learners.

Adobe Connect Countdown Timer

Odd, I've used the location map for years (as have many of my clients) and not had any issues with it in recent years. The previous version, created by a different group, would cause recordings to crash, but that was the biggest issue I ever saw with it.

The other items, clock, countdown timer, etc. are all SWF files as well. Infact, the room is comprised of multiple SWF files. I suppose if you are using an old version (circa 2007-2008 or older) it could be build in an old version of Action Script and cause issues, but that feels like a long shot.
