Customers activating an older version of WaveLab or WaveLab Elements (from version 7), whereas a newer version is already available, receive from Steinberg a so-called free Grace Period update to activate the current version available to that time. This offer is commonly valid for full versions, education versions, updates and upgrades.
If a newer version is released shortly after activation (usually within a four-week period), you may be entitled to the Grace Period update irrelevant of the current version having been granted at the time of activation.
Please note: WaveLab is activated as soon as you have entered your activation code within the eLicenser Control Center (eLCC). Please note that the date of activation is the determining factor — not the date of purchase or the registration date.

- Start the eLicenser Control Center application, found under Start/Programs/eLicenser on a Windows PC or in the Applications folder of Mac OS X. Click on the 'Maintenance' button. Your license will then be replaced by a WaveLab Pro 9.5 or WaveLab Elements 9.5 license and the Steinberg Grace Period site will be opened.
- Enter your eLicenser number and click 'Check for Grace Period eligibility'. Once your eligibility is confirmed, a download link will be displayed.
